Second Street Gallery and artist Christina Flowers invite you to participate in a call for responses, inspired by considerations of community and togetherness in times of separation. This call invites participants of all ages to respond to prompts, encouraging us to consider how we connect and create community. Share your voice and participate in the call HERE.
Flowers will use select community-sourced responses to inspire and motivate abstract artworks she will create for her upcoming exhibition in May 2022 at Second Street Gallery. Within her exhibition, Flowers will feature these selected responses alongside her completed works.
Flowers invites the community to participate in this call by answering the following questions:
What does “Community” mean to you?
How has the idea of “Togetherness” changed for you in recent years?
Where do you find a sense of community? Is it tied to people or place?
What is something about our local community that gives you hope?
The prompt questions are free response and anonymous – answer any or all of the questions and write as much or as little as you like.
The deadline to submit responses is April 1, 2022 at 11:59PM EST. You can submit your responses to this call for submissions through our online form HERE.
