A native of Detroit MI, Kweisi Morris has been crafting and creating since childhood. He attended the Herberger Institute’s School of Art at Arizona State University where he did all the usual art things. After a career detour through the corporate maze working as a designer, illustrator, and developer, he found his muse and his artist’s name, on distant shores at a lively artist’s market in Accra, Ghana. He returned home, bringing that energy to his practice where he crafts two and three dimensional cut paper creations and both representational and abstract art from acrylic and natural materials. Currently, Kweisi’s work fuses cultural memory with a mix of contemporary social commentary.
