Second Street Gallery is pleased to present Signs of Life, a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings by New York-based artist Kirsten Hemrich, in Dové Gallery from February 7 - March 21, 2025.

Hemrich’s work is inspired by the poetry and humor of all things. She draws the world around her every day. Abstraction, spirituality, and joy inform her attempts to shape the things we can't quite name. 

The body of work on view in Signs of Life was painted by the artist over a two-year period of intense grief and change. The exhibition was named Signs of Life in reference to coming back to the same images again and again: boats, kites, horses, flowers--objects with a specific kind of momentum and life energy. Hemrich invites the viewer to join her in honoring vitality as it exists within and around us.
