Prompt: monotypes inspired by Priscilla Long Whitlock. Monotypes are a one-of-a-kind print made by hand. First, make a painting with water based paints (watercolors are great) on a scrap piece of plastic. Let the painting dry. Finally, press your painting against a wet piece of paper. Be careful not to move the paper as you press against it.
Primarily a painter, Priscilla Long Whitlock first experimented with watercolor monotypes at SSG’s Gallery Rally. She also uses pencil, watercolor pencils, and “anything else on hand” to draw on both the plate and the print to expand her creativity and have fun experimenting.
