LINDSAY HEIDER DIAMOND

“When I look at the collection of my images and contemplate what I was seeking, I see the spaces that have become necessary refuges for me against the insanity of the world’s news and social media. The spaces are quiet, contemplative, perhaps yearning for a bit more, a little hopeful in their reveal, suggesting there is more to that moment beyond the boundary of the image. Each photo is a direct observation of the space around me when no one else was there, often first thing in the morning. It was always the light or the play of light and dark that grabbed me and continues to make me grab my camera. I think it symbolizes hope, perhaps a seeking for something bigger than me but I am never sure. I know I just keep taking photos of those spaces and I often find myself waiting for the light to come.”
