TIM BURGESS
“The physical space I wander daily in search of small wonders is what I consider my home. Trees that I have named (i.e., Yoda, Gumby, Family) are as essential to me as chairs on which I sit. My house sits on twenty-five acres that is bordered by 400 acres of parkland. My parcel and the adjacent park are void of towering cliffs or waterfalls, but it consists of soft finger-shaped ridges bound by meandering narrow creeks. Within this old-growth forest, some streams weep while others collect their waters. These woods invite me to walk through them and allow me to simply observe.
Old homesites and the remnants of these dwellings have been swallowed up and consumed by the forest. I take photos of the elements that intrigue me, both natural (the woods) and manmade (my garden, the pond) and these pictures have become my journal during these past several months. The quarantine allowed me to spend even more time in my space, just as she came alive for the Spring.”
