As you explore the exhibition, please take in this special message from the curation team:

Welcome home! We’re so glad you’re here.

Home can be interpreted in countless ways – a place of belonging, a space of safety and warmth, a reflection of identity. In this exhibition, each artist shares their interpretation of what home feels like or what reminds them of home. The works they’ve created across various mediums and textures live in eye-catching technicolor and classic greyscale. In contrast with the stark 2D black and white fixtures of a house, each work of art is a metaphor for the vibrancy that family, friends, and neighbors bring, turning a house into a home.

We welcome you into a safe place to dream and to grow. To reflect and release. To gather, celebrate, laugh, and love. We welcome you into a safe place to just be.

With Love,

The Charlottesville Black Arts Collective
